Claudia Chase - Tapesty Technique Workshop
Our EXCLUSIVE Tapestry Technique Workshop, taught by none other than the inventor of the Mirrix Loom, CLAUDIA CHASE, was a huge hit with our students! Claudia Chase has retired from instructing so this exciting opportunity was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience! A challenging two full days of exploring the tapestry weaving techniques on these beautiful, easy-to-use looms was enjoyed by all and we look forward to future artworks springing from the talented fingers of these eager beaders! |
Many students asked about the Mirrix Loom Forum - a terrific place to learn and grown in your exploration of the wonderful artworks these looms can help you create - so Beads of Colour is delighted to provide the following links (just click on the loom!): |

The lovely and talented Claudia Chase instore at Beads of Colour. Her personality is every bit as bright and attractive as her smile! Claudia delighted us all when she unveiled the sample pieces she had brought for our enjoyment. An exquisite colour sense, together with her mastery of techniques over decades, combine in her tapestry art to provide a real sense of joy and life. The 100% wool fibres were hand-dyed by Claudia, and she very generously provided her students with a wide selection of her unique colours for their novice tapestry efforts. |
A careful balance of colour and texture, attention to tension, soothing motions, tapping into the creative flow of energy - ahhhhh...! The beautiful Mirrix looms got a real workout - we learned how to warp, select and use a weft, start and end the tapestry, create geometric shapes, lines and curves, remove the tapestry from the loom and finish it appropriately for a wide variety of uses. |
Thanks to one of our fabulous fellow beaders, Claudia got her first ride in a Smart Car; did you know you can't buy one in the United States? A quick lunch trip for great Lebanese food meant that Claudia just "had" to get a lift! |
When the workshop was over we had adopted Claudia as an honourary Canadian and she seemed to find it as hard to leave, as it was to let her go! You'll always find a warm welcome at Beads of Colour, Claudia! |
